The Electrotechnical Experienced Worker Qualification is for practicing electricians with more than 5 years on site experience as well as relevant technical knowledge to Level 3.
Before you get started, we will invite you to an Introduction session to explain everything involved with the qualification and to undertake a skills-scan so that you can be certain this is the right next step for you before enrolling with us.
The assessments involve an assessor visiting you on-site on several occasions usually over a minimum period of six months (maximum of 18 months) to collect evidence in the form of photographs, video evidence, expert witness testimony and records of professional discussions.
You need to demonstrate a range of work on each occasion to cover all aspects of the Experienced Worker requirements.
Both you and the assessor will need to perform written records of your work and present this in a completed portfolio of evidence, demonstrating your competency in the workplace.
Once you have completed your portfolio, your final hurdle will be undertaking the AM2E at a Net centre, allowing JIB to recognise you as fully qualified and satisfying the requirements for a JIB gold card.
Is this the right step for me?
If you have been working in the industry as a practicing electrician for more than 5 years and you possess a minimum of a Level 2 Diploma qualification in Electrical Installations*, then the Electrotechnical Experienced Worker qualification, course code 603/5982/1, is likely to be the one for you. This route does require a complete skills scan and for you to have your 18th Edition Wiring Regulations and Initial Verification in Inspection and Testing qualifications too. Our Experienced Worker assessor can discuss this with you before you enrol.
Important to note:
Alternatively, if you have 3 years’ experience and want to work in a Domestic setting only, and you possess a Level 2 Diploma qualification in Electrical Installations*, then the Electrotechnical in Dwellings Experienced Worker qualification, course code 610/2859/9, may be the appropriate route.
Or, if you don’t have any experience but are qualified with your Level 2 & Level 3 Diplomas and are intending to complete the AM2 trade skills test then the Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Installing Electrotechnical Systems and Equipment, course code 501/1605/8, would be the appropriate route to qualification.
Please contact our office on 0161 425 7996 or by email to enquiries@eruditetraining.net and one of our team will send you the appropriate information.
*This includes EAL Level 2 Diploma or City & Guilds Level 2 2365 Level 2 2330 and equivalents, but does not include short VRQ qualifications such as Level 2 DEI or standalone CPD qualification e.g., 18th Edition
